What Is Climate Change?

First of all, Climate is the usual weather of a place. Different places can have different climates. You might live in Saudi Arabia where its very hot, while your cousin might live in Poland where it is very cold. There's also Earth's climate. Earth's climate is what you get when you combine all the climates around the world together.

Now what is climate change? Climate change is a change in the usual weather found in a place. For example: In your house, it always rains. Then all of a sudden, rain falls only a few times. Climate change is also a change in Earth's climate. This could be a change in Earth's usual temperature. Weather can change in just a few hours. Climate takes hundreds or even millions of years to change.

Now you might be thinking, "Well Climate Change isn't that serious after all! Why should i worry? Hakuna Matata!" Well, heres why you need to worry. Scientists think that Earth's temperature will keep going up for the next 100 years. This would cause more snow and ice to melt. Oceans would rise higher. Some places would get hotter. Other places might have colder winters with more snow. Some places might get more rain. Other places might get less rain. Some places might have stronger hurricanes. Climate change is very serious, and we have the responsibility to learn the causes of it, and how to stop it in our own small way.

What Causes Climate Change?

  • Generating Power

Most of the electricity that we use is produced by power plants which produce electricity through toxic fossil fuel, which is harmful for the environment, and a big cause for climate change.

  • Too Much Transport

Transportation has made life easier. But too much cars on the road, too much planes in the sky, etc, can be a big cause for climate change.

  • Too Much Trash

Do you love Dorritos? I do to! But the problem is, there is just to much plastic in the world thanks to our nonstop throwing away of plastic. And too much plastic can cause climate change.

How to help

  • Turn Off The Lights!

By turning off the lights, in a room were not using, we can help stop climate change by lessening the carbon emission, and other harmful greenhouse gasses.

  • Walk!

You are just going to your neighbors house. Do you still need a car to do that? Walking or riding a bike is more fun, healthy, and enviromental friendly. You can only ride your car when going to far places.

  • Reuse Plastic Not Throw!

You have a plastic bottle in your hand. Do you throw it away? Or instead beat boredom by transforming it into a pencil case. That would be more fun, more creative, and most importantly, you will be saving the earth!

  • Spread Awareness!

The biggest help you can do as a member of the LetsSaveEarthMovement, is sharing this website with other people. By doing so, you are spreading awareness and recruiting more youths to do these steps. Hence, saving the world.
